Founded in 2003, Etihad Airways has established itself as one of the fastest growing airlines in aviation history. With a fleet of more than 100 Boeing and Airbus aircraft, this international airline now operates in excess of a 1,000 flights per week, to more than 100 destinations worldwide. In 2004, the company acquired more than 20 Airbuses and five Boeing 777's, and in 2008 purchased what was announced as the largest aircraft order in aviation history, of more than 200 aircraft. In just over a decade, the airline has firmly established itself as the United Arab Emirates' second largest airline.
